Sylvia Chan-Olmsted named Associate Dean for Research
Dr. Sylvia Chan-Olmsted, Al and Effie Flanagan Professor in telecommunication, has accepted the appointment as the College’s associate dean for research, beginning July 1, Dean Terry Hynes announced. The College’s photojournalism program recently finished fifth in the annual Hearst Foundation photojournalism competition. In the third and final round, Picture Story, photojournalism senior Emily Harris placed 10th. Other students who competed included Danny Ghitis, Matt Marriott, Jarrett Baker, Jessica Crossfield and Doug Bell. UF placed second in this national contest in 2004-05 and 2003-04. […]
