Pulitzer Prize winner Karen DeYoung speaks about Bush’s administration and diplomacy
Karen DeYoung, JM 1971, spoke April 5 in the Reitz Union. DeYoung’s speech, entitled “Does the Bush Administration Care About Diplomacy”, was sponsored by the UF International Center, in collaboration with the College of Journalism and Communications, ACCENT, and the Student Government.
Karen DeYoung is an associate editor at The Washington Post and the paper’s senior diplomatic correspondent. She has worked at the Post for over 30 years and is the recipient of numerous awards for foreign correspondence and for diplomatic and explanatory journalism, including the 2002 Pulitzer Prize given to the Post for National Reporting (team award for coverage of U.S. war on terror). An Alumna of Distinction of the College, she lives in Washington, D.C.
She is the author of “Soldier”, a biography of Colin Power which was published in 2006. There was a book signing after her speech.
