College captures third place nationally in Hearst

The College ranked third overall in the recent 47th annual Hearst competition.

At the Hearst Journalism Awards in San Francisco earlier this summer, John Freeman collected three medallions on behalf of the College: second place in photojournalism, fifth in radio and TV news and third overall.

Photojournalism student Morgan Petroski joined five other students from around the country in the annual Hearst shootout. The recent grad is interning at The Gainesville Sun.
