UF student journalists win SPJ, RTNDA regional awards
University of Florida student journalists have won eight Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards from the Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) and ten regional Mark of Excellence Awards from the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ).

The awards were announced in early April 2008 by the RTNDA.

- News Documentary – WRUF-AM, "Empty Food Banks"
- News Series – WUFT-FM, "Foster Care"
- Sports Reporting – WUFT-FM, "World's Fastest Game?"
- Spot News Coverage – WRUF-AM, "Taser Protest"
- Use of Sound – Radio only – WRUF-AM, "Game Security."
2008 Region 3 SPJ Mark of Excellence Winners
The awards were announced March 30, at the SPJ Region 3 Conference at the University of South Carolina.
