UF student journalists with three national SPJ awards
University of Florida student journalists have won three national Mark of Excellence Awards from the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ), the society announced today.
The winners are:
- Miles Doran, National Finalist, Radio News Reporting, “Don’t Tase Me, Bro!”
- WRUF Radio Staff, National Winner, Radio Newscast, “Front Page on the Air”
- Independent Florida Alligator Staff, National Winner, Online Sports Reporting, “Gators in Glendale”
The awards will be presented during the Mark of Excellence Luncheon on Sept. 5 at the 2008 SPJ Convention & National Journalism Conference in Atlanta, Georgia.
A “national winner” is first place in the category. A “national finalist” placed in the top three nationally, but is not the national winner in the category.
