Students place second, fourth in Hearst round one
Photojournalism students Chen Wang and Tim Hussin placed second and fourth, respectively, in round one, Portrait/Feature/Personal Vision, of the annual Hearst Foundation intercollegiate photojournalism competition, professor John Freeman announced.
Wang won a $1,500 scholarship and Hussin won a $750 scholarship, with matching awards going to the journalism department. Both students qualified for the semi-final round in May 2009.
