Four festival awards for Kaplan’s autobiographical cancer education film project
Professor John Kaplan’s health science education film, Not As I Pictured, has won awards at each festival it has screened in over the past month. At Cleveland’s Chagrin Falls Documentary Film Festival, the film won a Best Documentary Award. At the Orlando Film Festival, Not As I Pictured was named Most Inspiring Film. Kaplan’s related short film, Pulitzer Pride, was awarded 2nd Place Documentary in the Lake Michigan Film Competition at Michigan’s largest film festival. In September, Not As I Pictured was an Honoree at the Central Florida Film Festival.
Recent Not As I Pictured media coverage includes an eight page article in China’s largest photo magazine, Photo World, and profiles on Kaplan in the Orlando Sentinel, and in Cleveland’s Sun-News, published online at the Cleveland Plain Dealer website:
