Kaplan addresses oncologists conference; launches free DVD humanitarian education program

Professor John Kaplan was the only non-MD to address the Florida Society of Clinical Oncology 2010 Fall Session in Miami, Nov. 5-6. At the conference, Kaplan also launched a free DVD distribution program for his health science cancer education film, Not As I Pictured. The film is accompanied by an educational film companion guide edited by Kaplan in association with the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), utilizing the results of focus group testing with patients, caregivers, survivors and medical professionals.

Not As I Pictured is one of three pilot projects for the Media Initiative for Social Responsibility led by Kaplan. Humanism in Medicine is a leading theme of the initiative.
