McAdams finishes online training for journalism professors in Africa
Journalism professor Mindy McAdams, Knight Chair in Journalism Technologies and the Democratic Process in the College, recently concluded an online training course for 23 journalism professors in nine African countries.
The online course, called “Teaching Online Journalism,” was created by the Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas at the University of Texas at Austin and UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) to expose the journalism professors to new communication techniques for their students.
The professors were based in Cameroon, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Uganda and Zimbabwe.
