CJC Alumna Elected AEJMC Vice President
Congratulations to UFCJC alumna Dr. Jennifer Greer, newly elected 2015-16 vice president of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC).
Jennifer earned her Ph.D. in mass communication at CJC in 1996. Her dissertation was on “Unleashing the Watchdogs on Political Advertising.”
Jennifer attended her first AEJMC convention as a student in 1993 and has been active ever since serving in various leadership roles within the organization. She is currently the associate provost for administration for the University of Alabama. Previously, she was interim dean of the College of Communication & Information Sciences and chair of the Department of Journalism at Alabama.
Her research focuses on online news delivery, media credibility, media effects, political communication, sports media and diversity. She has published numerous journal articles, book chapters and an edited book, Media Issues. She serves on the editorial boards of Mass Communication and Society, Journalism and Mass Communication Monographs and Journalism and Mass Communication Educator.
