Randy Bennett Named Executive Director of External Relations
The University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications has named Randy Bennett to the new position of Executive Director of External Relations. Randy was formerly the College’s director of entrepreneurship and partnerships.
In this new role, he will combine his previous responsibilities of pursuing collaboration opportunities for the college with overall communication strategies to engage students, faculty, alumni, industry and other constituencies.
Randy joined the college in March 2014 and quickly helped raise the visibility of the college through stories written by faculty and staff as well as stories written about the College’ accomplishments. He launched Captivate, a collection of articles by 30 industry executives, to help accelerate thought leadership efforts. In addition, he established partnerships with companies such as Elite Daily, Parse.ly and Yik Yak.
Randy will focus on the College’s branding and communication strategy, building off the discussions and results of the school’s 2020 planning process. He will continue efforts to raise the College’s visibility within the communication industry and academic community.
