UFCJC Student Wins Scholarship from Association for Women in Sports Media
University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications Telecommunication senior Kaitlin Alexander has been awarded the Founders Scholarship and an internship with CNN/Bleacher Report from the Association for Women in Sports Media (AWSM). She was one of eight students nationwide selected for a scholarship and internship.
Alexander is the first student from the AWSM UF chapter to receive a scholarship from this organization.
AWSM is a support network and advocacy group for women who work in sports writing, editing, broadcast and production, and public and media relations.
CJC was awarded a chapter from the national organization in 2016 and now has 30 members, making it one of the largest chapters in the country. The UF chapter was recently featured on the AWSM site.
