In Memoriam: Carla Hotvedt

Carla Hotvedt, B.S. Journalism 1978, passed away on Jan. 14 at the age of 60. She was a photographer at The Gainesville Sun during an era that saw the newspaper’s photo staff produce work on par with much larger newspapers. She spent 12 years on the Sun’s photo staff and was the National Press Photographers Association’s Region 6 photographer of the year in 1981. She left the newspaper to start a family and to launch an international photo business named Silver Image Photo Agency.
