Two CJC Student Productions Nominated for College Television Emmy Awards
Two University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications student productions were nominated for Emmy Awards in the 38th Annual College Television Awards Competition sponsored by the Television Academy Foundation. The Sept. 2, 2016 edition of “WUFT News First at Five” was honored in the Newscast category and the “2016 UF Homecoming Parade Pre-Show” was selected in the Variety category.
The Sept. 2 newscast, submitted by Telecommunication seniors and co-producers Ryan Roberts and Daniela Hurtado, chronicled the aftermath of Hurricane Hermine’s impact on North Central Florida. The 2016 UF Homecoming Parade Pre-Show was submitted by Telecommunication seniors and co-producers Jack Kramer and Danielle Frew.
The College Television Awards is a nationwide competition recognizing excellence in student work and spotlighting an inclusive group of talented storytellers and content creators who aspire to careers in the entertainment industry. Winners will be announced at the May 24 College Television Awards ceremony in Los Angeles, Calif.
