WUFT News on Top 20 List of Best Open-Record Stories
University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications student journalists investigated compliance with the state public record law in all 20 Florida district state attorney’s offices and found that the state lacks a uniform system to enforce the law.
The resulting WUFT News report, Sunshine Lost: Florida’s Public Records Act Lacks Effective Enforcement Mechanism by Andrew Briz, Laura Cardona, TJ Pyche and Caitie Switalski, was featured in Here Are 20 of the Best Open-Records Stories So Far This Year published by the Poynter Institute on March 20, 2017.
