Three CJC Faculty Receive Promotions
Three University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications faculty from the Departments of Advertising and Public Relations recently received promotions. Janice Krieger, STEM Translational Communication Center (STCC) director, has been promoted to full professor of Advertising. Rita Linjuan Men is now a tenured associate professor of Public Relations and Deanna Pelfrey has been promoted to senior lecturer in Public Relations.
Krieger’s area of expertise includes designing, implementing and evaluating translational communication interventions in health and science contexts. In addition to being STCC director, she is also the co-director of the Recruitment Center at the UF Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute.
Men’s focus is primarily on corporate communication research and consulting. Her research interests include internal communication, leadership communication, public engagement, measurement and evaluation, relationship/reputation management, and social media public relations. She is an accredited public relations professional (APR) and a Page Up member of the Arthur W. Page Society.
Pelfrey has more than 25 years’ experience in public relations and serves as coach of the CJC PRSSA Bateman
National Case Study Competition Team. She teaches several courses including Public Relations Writing, International Public Relations and Strategic Communication in Public Diplomacy.
