CJC Alum Wins Two SPJ Sunshine State Awards

University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications alumna Shelby Webb, B.S. Journalism 2013, current education reporter for the Houston Chronicle and former Sarasota (Fla.) Herald-Tribune writer, won first place in the Beat Reporting category and second place in the Data Reporting category from the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) Sunshine State Awards for a Herald-Tribune investigation piece. “Expelled: No Second Chances” focuses on disciplinary policies, including expulsions, in Sarasota County and across the state.
