Carla Fisher’s Book Honored by the National Communication Association
Carla Fisher, University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications Advertising associate professor, won the 2018 Outstanding Book Award from the National Communication Association (NCA) Communication and Aging Division.
Her book, Coping Together Side-By Side: Enriching Mother-Daughter Communication Across the Breast Cancer Journey, will be recognized at the Communication and Aging Division Business Meeting in Salt Lake City on Nov. 9.
Books are judged on the importance of the problem it addresses to the fields represented in the NCA, and to communication studies, the quality of writing and argument, and the strength of evidence it presents.
The NCA Communication and Aging Division is comprised of individuals and scholars who are in interested in communication with, by, and about older adults, and how much such communication relates to healthy and successful outcomes as people age across the lifespan.
