CJC Alum Jamie Dupree Receives Prestigious Radio Television Correspondent’s Association Award
Jamie Dupree, B.S. Broadcasting 1985, received the Career Achievement Award for Distinguished Reporting on Congress from the Radio Television Correspondent’s Association (RTCA) at their 74th annual dinner on Nov. 14. Dupree is the senior Washington correspondent for Cox Media Group’s Washington Bureau.
Dupree’s 32-year career was derailed during the middle of the 2016 Presidential campaign when he suddenly lost his voice to a condition called protrusion dystonia. So far, doctors have been unable to restore his voice. However, a company in Scotland was able to use radio archives of his voice to build an app which he can now use to file radio reports again.
The prestigious award recognizes exceptional careers and signifies the admiration of the broadcasters who follow behind and benefit from the work of the recipient.
