CJC Student Places Fourth Overall in 2019 National Hearst Radio News and Features Competition
University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications (UFCJC) Telecommunication senior Dolores Hinckley has placed fourth overall in the 2019 Heart Journalism Awards Radio News and Features competition. As one of the top-five radio winners, Hinckley will now compete in the National Radio Championship in San Francisco in June, along with qualifying television, writing, photojournalism and multimedia finalists.
In addition, UFCJC is currently in first place in the 2019 Hearst Journalism Awards Intercollegiate Broadcast Competition with the highest accumulated student points in the Radio and Television One (TV1) competitions. The final ranking will be determined after the results of the Television Two (TV2) News Competition are tallied. The top three winning schools earn $10,000, $4,000 and $2,000 respectively.
Currently, 104 universities of the Association of Schools of Journalism and Mass Communication with accredited undergraduate journalism programs are eligible to participate in the Hearst competitions.
