Sorel has been in production with “Small Town-Big Dreams” since the beginning of 2018. The film captures the story of how one rural school principal transformed education for English-language learners.
More than 175 education administrators from around the country and approximately 25 administrators from the U.S. Department of Education attended this plenary session. After the film, Sorel co-hosted a panel with Maria Coady, associate professor of ESOL/Bilingual Education at the UF College of Education, about the topic of English-language learners and challenges faced by rural school districts.
