CJC Student Named to the Sports Journalism Institute Class of 2020
Joseph Salvador, a University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications Journalism senior, has been named to the Sports Journalism Institute (SJI) Class of 2020. Salvador is one of only 16 college students who will attend the SJI boot camp at the Arizona State University Cronkite School of Journalism from May 30 to June 7.
The 2020 SJI class will focus on live professional sports coverage experiences with the Arizona Diamondbacks baseball team and the Phoenix Mercury basketball team. Students will then travel to summer internships at various news organizations around the country. Salvador will intern at USA Today.
Salvador is a sports writer for the Independent Florida Alligator. Previously he served as Sports editor for Ft. Lauderdale’s Broward College newspaper The Observer.
