CJC Doctoral Student Selected for Prestigious 2020 NCA Doctoral Honors Seminar
Michaela Devyn Mullis, a University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications doctoral student, was selected from a national pool of applicants for the 2020 National Communication Association (NCA) Doctoral Honors Seminar.
Mullis was selected for the Communication Studies Division based on her dissertation work in parental alienation, a form of nonvoluntary family estrangement. She is in her third year of CJC’s doctoral program and her research focuses on family and health communication across the lifespan with emphasis on divorce and co-parenting contexts.
The NCA Doctoral Honors Seminars “bring together promising doctoral students and distinguished faculty members from across the discipline and around the nation to discuss current topics in Communication.” This year’s seminar will be held virtually with hosts from Colorado State University’s Communication Studies Department.
