John Freeman Receives First Place in AEJMC Visual Communication Creative Research Contest
John Freeman, University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications Journalism associate professor, has received first place in the 2020 Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC) Visual Communication Division Creative Research Competition for “Space Between Three.”
The competition provides the opportunity to have creative scholarship vetted in a blind-juried, peer-reviewed forum. Freeman will present his winning his winning entry virtually during an AEJMC Conference Creative Research Program on Aug. 7.
Freeman has led the photojournalism program at the University of Florida since joining the faculty in 1991. His research interest focuses on successful photojournalists and has been published in Visual Communications Quarterly and News Photographer magazine.
