UF Informatics Institute to Host AI Initiative Virtual Seminars
The University of Florida Informatics Institute will host a series of virtual seminars on the new UF Artificial Intelligence (AI) Initiative. The goal of the initiative is to advance and apply Artificial Intelligence (AI) across the university enterprise.
The initiative will train graduates for an AI-enabled world through new university-wide curricula. In addition, UF anticipates enhancing research computing with some of the nation’s most advanced AI machinery including the HiPerGator 3.0, supercomputer – one of the fastest supercomputer resources in U.S. higher education.
A series of talks will be held to engage faculty across the UF campus. The schedule includes:
Sept. 2: Dr. Adrian Roitberg “AI for Quantum Chemistry”
Sept. 9: Dr. Sanjay Ranka, “AI for Smart City Transportation”
Sept. 30: Dr. Alina Zare “Plant Root Analysis with Multiple Instance Learning”
Oct. 14: Dr. Yiannis Ampatzidis “AI Applications in Agriculture”
Oct. 21: Dr. Paul Torrey (title TBA)
Nov. 12: Dr. Ruogu Fang (title TBA)
Nov. 18: Dr. Robert Guralnick and Dr. Brian Stucky (title TBA)
Spring 2021 Talks: Dr. Ethan White; Dr. Hongcheng Liu
