Clay Calvert Selected for 2022 SEC Faculty Achievement Award
Clay Calvert, director of the Marion B. Brechner First Amendment Project and Brechner Eminent Scholar in Mass Communication at the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications, has been selected to receive one of 14 2022 Southeastern Conference (SEC) Faculty Achievement Awards.
Calvert was named the 2020-2021 UF Teacher/Scholar of the Year making him UF’s nominee for this honor. He will receive a $5,000 honorarium and will become UF’s nominee for SEC Professor of the Year Award which will be announced later in March.
First presented in 2012 and selected by the SEC Provosts, these awards honor one individual from each SEC member university who has excelled in teaching – particularly at the undergraduate level – and research.
Calvert is a member of both the State Bar of California and the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States.
