Rita Men Receives Prestigious AEJMC Krieghbaum Under-40 Award
Rita Men, University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications (UFCJC) Public Relations associate professor, is the recipient of the 2022 Hillier Krieghbaum Under-40 Award from the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC).
Men is the first UFCJC faculty member to win the Hillier Krieghbaum Award while working at the College.
The award was created and funded in 1980 by the late Hillier Krieghbaum of New York University, a long-time AEJMC member and a past president. It honors the contributions of a journalism or communication faculty member under the age of 40 who has made outstanding contributions in AEJMC’s three key areas: teaching, research, and public service.
Men has twice received the UFCJC Faculty Research Award and was awarded a 2021 UF Term Professorship. She was identified as the most published scholar in internal communication (1970-2019) and in social media and public relations (2006-2020), according to two systematic review articles published in Public Relations Review.
. Her work has been cited over 5,600 times with Google Scholar Citations h-index 36 and i10-index 49 as of February 2022.
