Five UFCJC Faculty Receive Promotions
The University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications (UFCJC) today announced promotions for five faculty members.
Eric Esterline, Media Production, Management, and Technology lecturer in sports media and communication and director of the Sports Journalism and Communication Program, has been promoted to senior lecturer. Esterline originally joined the College in August 2015.
Herbert Lowe, Journalism lecturer, has been promoted to senior lecturer. He joined UFCJC in August 2017 after seven years as a professional in residence at Marquette University.
Jay Hmielowski, Public Relations assistant professor, has been granted tenure and promoted to associate professor. Prior to joining UFCJC in 2019, he had been an associate professor at Washington State University and assistant professor at the University of Arizona.
Benjamin Johnson, Advertising assistant professor, has been granted tenure and promoted to associate professor. Johnson joined UFCJC in 2018 after four years as assistant professor at Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam and, prior to that, four years as a graduate associate at Ohio State University.
Linjuan Rita Men, Public Relations associate professor, has been promoted to full professor. She joined UFCJC from Southern Methodist University in 2015 and granted tenure and promoted to associate professor in June 2017.
