Two UFCJC Student Journalists Are Top 20 Finalists in the First 2022-23 Heart Journalism Awards Multimedia Competition
University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications (UFCJC) Media Production, Management, and Technology senior Jordan Frye and Journalism senior Macie Goldfarb have placed 8th and 20th, respectively, in the 2022-23 Hearst Journalism Awards Multimedia Video Narrative Storytelling Competition.
In the first of three multimedia competitions, entries consist of a story on any topic that is told through the medium of video for a digital audience. Judges consider the uniqueness of presentation, how the work incorporates digital storytelling techniques and the impact and strength of the journalism produced.
The 63rd annual Hearst Journalism Awards Program added multimedia to the competition in 2010. The program also includes five writing, two photojournalism and four multimedia competitions offering up to $700,000 in scholarships, matching grants and stipends. There are 105 universities of the Association of Schools of Journalism and Mass Communication with accredited undergraduate journalism programs are eligible to participate in the Hearst competitions.
