Two UFCJC Students Receive 2023 PRNEWS Social Impact Awards
Two University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications (UFCJC) students have won 2023 PRNEWS Social Impact Awards. Master’s student Jakera Felton received the 2023 Graduate Student of the Year Award and Rayna Van Beuzekom, B.S. Public Relations 2022, received the Undergraduate Student of the Year Award.
The Social Impact Awards honor communicators who use their platforms to better their community and the global community at large. Winners are the campaigns, initiatives, professionals, teams, rising stars, and lifetime pioneers that are helping to usher in a diverse, equitable future and redefine organizations’ role in the fight for global change.
This is the second year in a row that a UFCJC student received the Graduate Student of the Year Award. Last year a UFCJC student received an honorable mention in the Undergraduate Student of the Year category.
In November, the UFCJC Public Relations Department was selected for the PRNEWS’ 2023 Education A-List, which recognizes the top 50 educational institutions that are advancing the careers of public relations and communication professionals in the U.S. This is the third year in a row that UFCJC has been named to this prestigious list, which was launched in 2021.
