Shaping Athletics: Body Image Issues in Women’s Sports

Sports are a place for women to break barriers and achieve feats that inspire young girls everywhere. However, many athletic environments are plagued with negative messaging regarding body image. Asia Smith’s analyzed the widespread issue of body dissatisfaction in the female athlete community. Her videography project gave athletes an opportunity to engage in open discussions with the goal of highlighting the importance of self-acceptance in women’s athletics today and in the future.
