UFCJC Online Masters Adjunct Instructor is Lead Presenter at TEDxUF 14th Annual Conference
Dustin York, University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications (UFCJC) online master’s adjunct instructor for the “Social Media and Emerging Technologies” course, will be the lead speaker at the TEDxUF 14th Annual Conference in Gainesville on April 1 at UF’s University Auditorium.
The theme for the 2023 event is “Illumination” and York will give the opening presentation, “Childhood Curiosity Will Unlock Digital Confirmation.” He will examine the role that childhood curiosity plays in digital transformation, innovation and change management. He will focus on how unlocking childhood curiosity about Pokemon Go, Apple, ChatGPT, and Fortnite can provide information about the future of education, healthcare, business, and diversity and inclusion.
York is a branding and innovation strategist leading workshops for Fortune 500 companies while also serving as an associate professor at Maryville University of Saint Louis. Prior to entering academia, he worked in public relations for the 2008 Obama Presidential campaign, Pepsi Co. and Nike. His specialties include social media, emerging technologies, digital transformation, and brand development. York is a subject matter expert for CNN, Entrepreneur.com, Fast Company and Forbes, as well as a contributor for Harvard Business Review.
