Three UFCJC Students Receive an Honorable Mention in the 2023 Page Society Student Case Study Competition
University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications (UFCJC) Public Relations seniors Darian Hernandez, Carolina Gnerre and Taimarie Carasa, led by Public Relations Professional-in-Residence Pat Ford, received an honorary communications case mention in the Arthur W. Page Society 2023 Student Case Study Competition for their case study, “More Than a Penny for Your Thoughts: Paypal’s Inconsistent Acceptable Use Policy.”
The Case Study Competition, sponsored by Page and the Institute for Public Relations (IPR), awards students whose original case studies best contribute to the profession’s body of knowledge and provide practical suggestions for improving corporate communication as a function. This year’s competition drew 36 entries from communications and business schools at 22 educational institutions across the U.S., China, the Philippines, and Singapore.
Student authors of winning entries and their faculty advisors are awarded cash prizes and recognized by the nation’s leading corporate communications executives. UFCJC won first place in 2022 and 2021 and and second place in 2020.
Linjuan Rita Men, (UFCJC) Public Relations professor and director of Internal Communication Research, was one of the 32 competition judges.
