UFCJC Alumna Places in Top 10 in the 2022-23 Hearst Journalism Awards Photojournalism 1 and 2 Competitions
Lauren Witte, B.S. Journalism 2022, has placed seventh in the 2022-23 Hearst Journalism Awards Photojournalism 2 – Picture Story/Series competition. In the Photojournalism 1 – News and Features competition, Witte placed tenth.
Prior to graduation, Witte was a photo intern at the Tampa Bay Times, the Texas Tribune and The Independent Florida Alligator.

The 63rd annual Hearst Journalism Awards added photojournalism to the competitions in 1970. The program, offering up to $700,000 in awards, consists of five monthly writing competitions, two photojournalism competitions, one audio competition, two television competitions, and four multimedia competitions – with championship finals in all divisions.
