UFCJC Students Recognized in 2022-23 Hearst Journalism Awards Multimedia Team Digital News/Enterprise Story Competition
A team of seven University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications (UFCJC) student journalists placed sixth in the 2022-23 Hearst Journalism Awards Multimedia Team Digital News/Enterprise Story competition.
The team was comprised of Emily Palazzotto, B.S. Journalism 2023, Kendall Brandt, B.S. Journalism 2022, Alexus Cleavenger, B.S. Journalism 2022, Amy Galo, B.S. Journalism 2022, Macie Goldfarb, B.S. Journalism 2023, Ophelie Jacobson, B.S. Journalism 2023 and Journalism rising senior Chris Will.
The fourth and final multimedia competition of the academic year received 69 entries from 42 schools. UFCJC accumulated enough student points to secure second place overall in the 2022-23 Hearst Journalism Awards Multimedia Competition.

The Journalism Awards Program, now in its 63rd year, added multimedia to the competitions in 2010. The program also includes five writing, one audio, two television, and two photojournalism competitions offering up to $700,000 in scholarships, matching grants and stipends. 105 member universities of the Association of Schools of Journalism and Mass Communication with accredited undergraduate journalism programs are eligible to participate in the Hearst competitions.
