UFCJC Doctoral Student is the Recipient of a 2023 AEJMC Visual Communication Division Excellence in Teaching Award

University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications doctoral student A. Kix Patterson is one of two recipients of the 2023 Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC) Visual Communication Division’s Sandy Utt Excellence in Teaching Award.

The award recognizes instructors who demonstrate exceptional teaching skills, a high level of engagement in the classroom and innovative practices. Judges review applicants who submit an extensive portfolio with examples of student work, syllabi and support letters for review.

Patterson will be honored in the non-tenured category. The award will be presented at the teaching panel during the AEJMC annual conference in Washington, D.C. on Aug. 8.
