Celeste Wagner To Serve as Keynote Speaker for Latin America Conference on Media, Culture and Society
Celeste Wagner, University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications Journalism assistant professor, will be the keynote speaker for the “Contemporary Developments on Media, Culture and Society in Latin America” conference at the Universidad de San Andrés, Buenos Aires, Argentina on Sept. 2.
Wagner will speak about “Communication, Activism and Social Change: Feminist Discourse and its Societal Reception in Argentina and the United States.”
The ninth annual conference is organized by The Center for the Study on Media and Society in Argentina (MESO), a space for research and debate on media, culture and digital technology, founded by Northwestern University and the Universidad de San Andrés.
Wagner’s research interests focus on processes of media reception and influence around political and social issues, particularly intersecting gender inequalities in the Americas.
