Sriram Kalyanaraman To Serve as Panel Moderator at Estonian EU Digital Summit
Sriram Kalyanaraman, University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications Journalism professor and Media Effects and Technology Lab director, will be the moderator for “Shaping Tomorrow’s Citizens: The Role of Infotechnology and Education in Promoting Democratic Values,” a panel discussion at the EU Digital Summit in Tallinn, Estonia on Sept. 6-7.
Panel members include the former president of Estonia, the vice president of the Seychelles, UNICEF’s director of Global Innovation and a South African activist and filmmaker.
The Tallinn Digital Summit brings together leaders from the digitally advanced world to address challenges and seize opportunities on the journey towards a connected digital future. The 2023 edition aims to refresh the agenda for democracy and technology, focusing on governance and open societies. It emphasizes the importance of swift and resilient governance, embracing technological advancements while upholding democratic values, and promoting transparency and accountability in the digital era. The summit will showcase global initiatives for value-driven partnerships and open-source digital projects.
