You Are Invited: Apply for the Third Annual Intergroup Dialogue Facilitator Training!
Are you an undergraduate or graduate student looking to receive training in communication, conflict, leadership, career, and life skills? If so, apply for the third annual intergroup dialogue facilitator training now!
Changemakers’ Dialogue was founded in the Spring of 2021 as a program for students to engage in conversations centered on storytelling, reflection, and making positive change. This student initiative is in its third year as a program within the Brown Center for Leadership and Service at UF. The ongoing program is led by trained student leaders who facilitate challenging and courageous dialogues and who have the desire to engage across lines of difference in order to create a more tolerant UF community.
By creating authentic spaces for intergroup dialogue, we hope to be part of a movement where the need for dialogue is embraced as the first step for addressing critical issues and the foundation for change. Intergroup dialogues are critical to promoting positive relations between groups on campus and advancing our university values in order to prepare students for leadership in an evolving global community.
Apply at the link below to become a trained facilitator and join our team while bringing these skills and conversations back to your own student organizations, academic pursuits, and beyond. If you are interested in nuanced perspectives, freedom of expression, and want to engage with peers from different backgrounds and viewpoints, then becoming an intergroup dialogue facilitator is right for you. Students who apply to become facilitators will receive training on the weekend of September 29 – October 1 (food included), a certificate of completion, and the opportunity to facilitate upcoming dialogues.

What was your favorite experience from the Fall 2021 Facilitator Training?
“Meeting people from all over UF and learning about them beyond the surface-level name, major, and year questions. Now, I recognize people wherever I walk on campus, which makes me feel more emotionally invested in the university. Connecting with people and staying in touch afterwards has put me onto so many amazing opportunities for collaboration and growth both on and off campus. I was able to take ownership of what I had learned and used it to facilitate a dialogue series with one of the amazing individuals I met at the facilitator training weekend.” |
