Benjamin Johnson to Present and Conduct a Workshop at Babeș-Bolyai University in Romania
Benjamin Johnson, University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications (UFCJC) Advertising associate professor and interim director of the STEM Translational Communication Center, will give a research presentation and workshop at Babeș-Bolyai University (UBB) in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, from Oct. 3-8.
On Oct. 4, Johnson will present his research, “Relatable, Independent, and Honest: Social Cues in Digital Content Marketing,” which focuses on his recent influencer and advertising experiments conducted at UFCJC. On Oct. 5, he will give a workshop on open science, sharing his experiences with preregistration and other practices that improve the transparency and rigor of social scientific research.
Johnson was invited by Delia Balaban, director of the UBB Ph.D. School of Communication, Public Relations and Advertising.
According to Johnson, “Professor Balaban’s research on influencers and social media is cutting edge in this major area of advertising scholarship, and it’s an honor to visit Babeș-Bolyai University and engage with their faculty and graduate students.”
UBB is the largest university in Romania, with nearly 50,000 students.
