Angela Bradbery Honored as Mentor of the Year in 2024 PRNEWS Impact Communications Awards
Angela Bradbery, University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications (UFCJC) Frank Karel Chair in Public Interest Communications, was honored as Mentor of the Year in the 2024 PRNEWS Impact Communications Awards.
Formerly known as the PRNEWS Social Impact Awards, the awards honor outstanding corporate social responsibility, environmental and social governance, and diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives in the communications industry.
PRNEWS cited Bradbery’s “pivotal role in the creation of a dedicated undergraduate track in public interest communications” and “making the curriculum accessible to students worldwide. Bradbery also mentors potential educators in the field through the establishment of an educators’ network. As part of this outreach, she has organized events to provide these educators with resources, enabling them to establish pathways at their respective schools for students interested in careers that utilize strategic communications to drive positive social change.”
In the 2023 competition, UFCJC students received both Graduate and Undergraduate Student of the Year honors. In 2022, students received the Graduate Student of the Year Diversity Leaders Award and an Honorable Mention in the Undergraduate Student of the Year Diversity Leaders competition.
