UFCJC Faculty to Speak at FPRA Ocala Chapter Communicators Conference
Nathan Carpenter, University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications Atlas Lab director, Myiah Hutchens, UFCJC Public Relations associate professor and chair, and Andrew Selepak, UFCJC Media Production, Management, and Technology instructional assistant professor, will be presenters at the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) Ocala Chapter COMMference: The Conference for Communicators on April 26.
The one-day professional development seminar is tailored for communicators and brings together public relations professionals, marketers, videographers and other communication experts.
Carpenter’s presentation, “New Frontiers in Social Media Listening & Analytics,” highlights the most significant changes to the social media ecosystem. He will also share the accessible tools and strategies for navigating these changes.
Hutchens will focus on “Polarization & Communication: The Impact of Social Media.” She will speak on the impact of social media habits on affective polarization – the increased gap between how we view our own political party and the “other” party.
Selepak will speak on “Trends in Social Media” focusing on the changing social media environment including advances in artificial intelligence, virtual reality, augmented reality and mixed reality.
The FPRA Ocala Chapter event will be held at the College of Central Florida.
