PINEHURST, N.C. — Golf’s biggest stars were out in force in the opening round of the U.S. Open from the historic Pinehurst No. 2 course.

Seeking his first major title in a decade, Rory McIlroy shares the lead at the U.S. Open after the first round. Scottie Scheffler is aiming for his second major title this year, while three-time Open winner Tiger Woods is back for his 23rd career U.S. Open.
