Larry Bornacelli Joins UFCJC Division of Media Properties as Senior Broadcast Engineer
Larry Bornacelli has joined the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications (UFCJC) Division of Media Properties as a senior broadcast engineer for public media stations WUFT-FM/TV and commercial stations WRUF-AM/FM/TV.
Bornacelli is responsible for the installation, operation and maintenance of all broadcast equipment, including radio frequency systems in accordance with federal, state, local and university rules and regulations.
Bornacelli has more than 20 years of experience in radio and television engineering with a focus on both studio and transmitter facility maintenance. He was a maintenance engineer/chief operator at WKMG Channel 6, the Orlando, Florida, CBS affiliate, and a chief studio engineer at Cox Media Radio, an engineer at CBS Radio and an engineer at Q Broadcasting Corporation, all in Orlando.
He received a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Business Information Systems from DePaul University and an Associate of Science degree from ITT Technical Institute. He is certified by the Society of Broadcast Engineers in broadcast networking technology and as a broadcast radio engineer.
