University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications (UFCJC) alumnus Gregory Davis, B.S. Public Relations 2017 and M.A.M.C. 2020, is the recipient of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) 2024 Joe Curley Rising Leader Award.

The award identifies individual FPRA members demonstrating emerging leadership traits and active organizational involvement through activities, programs, functions and events.

Davis is the president of the FPRA Ocala Chapter and the first chapter member to receive this honor. He also received a $500 cash award and a $1,000 credit that can be used toward FPRA professional development seminars, workshops or conferences.

Davis became the City of Ocala’s Public Information Officer in May 2024. He also serves as a UFCJC Public Relations adjunct instructor.
