Terrell Jenkins Shares Information on the College Admission Process and Student Opportunities
Terrell Jenkins, Outreach Coordinator for the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications, is quoted in “Students and Families in Gainesville Learn About College Application Process and More” published in the Gainesville Sun on Aug. 26.
The article highlights the seventh annual “Cupcakes & Conversations: College Discoveries” event held in downtown Gainesville on Aug. 24. The event, open to middle and high school students and their families, offered tips for preparing for the college experience.
Jenkins, who has presented at the event for the past several years, shared information on the college admission process and the opportunities that are available.
“It is important that people, especially those in underserved communities, know that they have people who can answer their questions about college and the college admissions process,” Jenkins said. “It is important that people know there is support, resources and people in place to help them.”
He also emphasized that education, knowledge and acquiring vocational and trade skills can be a step toward helping student live productive lives.
