UFCJC Student Journalist Receives 2024 SPJ Florida Scholarship
Vivienne Serret, University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications (UFCJC) Journalism senior, is the recipient of the 2024 Society of Professional journalists (SPJ) Florida Scholarship.
Each year, SPJ award two scholarships to aspiring Florida college journalists. Applicants must attend a Florida college or university, be registered as a full-time student in fall 2024, plan to pursue a career in journalism and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. The $2,500 award can be applied for tuition or other expenses for the fall 2024 semester.
Currently, Serret is a reporter for WUFT News and Fresh Take Florida, UFCJC’s news service that produces investigative and political content focusing on Florida’s state government. The stories are featured on wuft.org and on media outlets throughout the state. She is also the current race and equity reporter for The Independent Florida Alligator‘s Enterprise desk.
