1. Tell us about your current job.
In my current role at TelevisaUnivision, I oversee the operational management of data processes for the Household Graph as a key part of our audience team. Our primary focus is on Hispanic households, ensuring efficient ingestion, segmentation and activation of audience data for impactful strategies. On an average day, I coordinate with vendors to ensure data is accurately loaded, help segment our audiences, and work to make high-quality, accessible data available across multiple platforms.
2. How did your time at CJC help prepare you for this current position?
My time at CJC was instrumental in shaping my career path. I made it a priority to learn from each professor, taking their advice seriously and often meeting during office hours to gain insight and guidance. A major milestone was joining The Agency at UF, where I gained hands-on experience that prepared me for the demands of my current role. The leadership and structure there taught me valuable lessons in teamwork, strategy, and data-driven decision-making, all of which have been essential in my career.
3. Was there a defining moment, personally or professionally, at CJC that set you on your current path ?
As an international Venezuelan student facing personal challenges during my time at CJC, a defining moment for me was seeking guidance through the PATH Office, the Knight Division and Dean Diane McFarlin. Their support helped me through a difficult time, and I’m deeply grateful for the resources they provided. Thanks to their guidance, I was able to successfully join a master’s program at UF, which set me on the path to where I am today.
4. If you had to do your academic experience or career over again, what, if anything would you do differently?
If I could do it all over again, I’d stop being afraid or shy and ask more questions, get involved beyond academics and fully embrace the experience. I’d make it a point to connect more with people around me, enjoy the journey, and take advantage of every opportunity. College isn’t just about the classes—it’s about growing with the people and experiences that make it unforgettable.
5. What advice do you have for students interested in pursuing a career similar to yours?
My advice is to pursue what interests you and remember that your path doesn’t end there—keep learning and exploring to keep growing. In my case, I joined CJC to study advertising, but my experience at The Agency sparked an interest in data and analytics. That led me to pursue a master’s in Information Systems, allowing me to combine both degrees in a career where I can do what I love. Don’t be afraid to evolve your path; each step brings you closer to a career that truly fits.
