From the Director ‘s Corner
Dear Supervisors,
Have you said “thank you” lately?
In the hustle and bustle of our daily work, it is easy to overlook the simple yet powerful act of showing gratitude. A heartfelt thank-you card can go a long way in making employees feel valued and appreciated. It does not take much time, but the impact is significant. By taking a moment to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of your team, you foster a positive work environment and boost morale. Let us make it a habit to express our thanks and spread positivity throughout our workplace.
If you do not have a thank you card to share, we have a variety of cards to choose from. Please stop by the CJC-HR office and get yours today. THANK YOU!

Safety and Security
CJC is home to a vibrant and exciting environment of 3,000 undergraduate and graduate students from locations far and wide across the globe. Part of our responsibility as faculty and staff in the college is to keep an eye out for students that may be in distress or in need of assistance and to do our part to provide them with the resources necessary, through official University programs and departments, to navigate what can be a challenging time in their lives.
UF’s Division of Student Affairs has developed the following “Helping Students in Distress” guide to assist in identifying potentially troubled, disruptive, or disturbing or even dangerous students and to provide some guidelines on what we can and should do as UF faculty and staff. https://police.ufl.edu/wp-content/uploads/Helping-Students-in-Distress-Guide1.pdf
Remember the University has invested in resources, tools, and professional staff to assist students in need. Please feel free to contact CJC human resources if you have further questions after reviewing the guide. And thanks for creating a caring, supportive, and engaged CJC environment for all!
From the Technology Corner – As a gentle reminder, there are several AI resources available from UF. Please be cautious not to upload any sensitive, restricted, or non-public data. If you need to include data in the LLMs without making it public or part of future AI model training, CJC IT is available to assist in securing it properly. More information can be found here: UF AI Resources. Have additional questions, please contact Josh Merrill at josh.merrill@ufl.edu.
