Six UFCJC Students Receive 2024 UF International Center Certificates of Outstanding Merit
Six University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications (UFCJC) undergraduate and graduate students are the recipients of 2024 UF International Center Certificates of Outstanding Merit. Advertising junior Carolina Gutierrez also received one of five University-wide 2024 Outstanding Undergraduate Student Awards.
The certificates were awarded to undergraduate students Gutierrez and Public Relations senior Jiawen Li, master’s students Xinyi Zuo and Samuel Arowosafe and doctoral students Xiaofan (Sophie) Wei and Qing Sunny Xu.
The certificates recognize the exceptional contributions of international students to the University. Academic achievements are considered in addition to how students have distinguished themselves, made a substantial impact and contributed to UF’s international profile and engagement.
The awards were presented by UFCJC Associate Dean for Graduate Affairs James Babanikos, UFCJC Media Production, Management, and Technology Associate Professor and Department Chair Roxane Coche and Advertising Associate Professor and Department Chair Huan Chen at the 30th Annual International Student Achievement Awards ceremony on Nov. 19 in the Reitz Union Grand Ballroom.
